Rachel Mackenzie

Rachel Mackenzie has been the Growcom Chief Advocate since 2009. Rachel is a key contributor to the strong reputation Growcom holds in relation to labour and workforce management in Queensland and Australian horticulture. Growcom was recently awarded funding by the Fair Work Ombudsman to implement the national Fair Farms Initiative. The initiative has a strong focus on grower education and training. Growcom is also working with Freshcare to develop a workplace relations certification to sit alongside the existing Food Safety and Environment certifications.

Rachel has also been a strong advocate for reform of the Horticulture Code of Conduct and participated actively in the review of the Code and the development of the new Code. She has just completed a Queensland roadshow educating more than 270 growers as to how the Code can work for them. Rachel has been with Growcom for 11 years and holds degrees in science and journalism.
