Stuart Burgess works as a Fund Manager with Hort Innovation and has been directly involved with the berry sector for over 11 years. He has a passionate and lifelong involvement in the rural sector having been raised on a dairy farm on the South Coast of NSW.
He completed a Bachelor of Horticultural Science through Hawkesbury Ag College before heading west to work in the Riverina on summer cropping. Stuart has an avid interest in Asian markets and has worked on the development of a number of new crops for Australian counter seasonal production including Japanese Green Vegetable Soybean (Edamame) and Japanese Ginger (Myoga).
Stuart has worked directly with over 15 separate horticultural sectors over the past 14 years whilst working with Hort Innovation and previously Horticulture Australia Limited.
